Fall Northeast Surf Fishing

Fall Northeast Surf Fishing

Sep 8th 2020

Fall isn't just the season for leaf peeping and everything Pumpkin Spice, but it's also a great time for surf fishing. Now is the time to get out and walk the beaches in search of Striped Bass, Bluefish, and False Albacore.

We spoke to Don Bisch, a lifelong surf fisherman, and employee at Ramsey Outdoor Store in Succasunna to cover his favorite type of fall surf fishing which is walking the beach and casting lures. "You'll want to cover as much water as you can. Keep an eye out for birds diving for bait within casting range and cast along the way until you find some action. Keep it light and simple as too much gear becomes a burden while surf fishing".

This active style of fishing is exciting and rewarding so we put together a list of must-haves to help you get out on the water and enjoy the Fall run!

Also don't forget to check your states fishing regulations as rules and regulations vary by state. Feel free to call Ramsey Outdoor to get the latest fishing report or with any questions about surf fishing in the Northeast.
