Fun Family Activities

Here at Ramsey Outdoor, we think of ourselves as outdoor experts. Whether you are in the car driving to your destination, hiking a long trail, or camping, you will be with the same people for DAYS… Luckily, there are a ton of fun games to keep you and your family busy that require little to no equipment! This list includes some of our classic games to keep all ages entertained while together.

1. Play Hopscotch: All you need is a piece of chalk and a rock, then you’re good to go! This is a game for all ages and can keep you busy for a while.
2. Play the Telephone Game: Need something fun and mellow to do? Sit on your lawn in a circle and play telephone. It’ll bring you back to your elementary school days!
3. Make Stone Soup: Print out a copy of the old folktale and read it to your kids, then make your own stone soup!
4. Have a Scavenger Hunt: Incorporate in things in your own backyard: 4 leaf clover, brown stone, white stone, red leaf, worms, etc. Scavenger hunts are fun for kids of all ages!
5. Freeze Dance: Who doesn’t love a good game of freeze dance? Put on some music and DJ your way to getting out some energy and having fun!
6. Practice your Memory with the Picnic Game: I’m going on a picnic and I’m bringing…APPLES. Go through the alphabet and repeat everything everyone else has already said. See how far you can get!
7. Play Duck, Duck, Goose: No matter how old you are, everyone loves a game of duck, duck, goose!
8. Take a Nature Walk: Go around your property and see what you find! Look at different flowers, birds, butterflies, look for a ladybug and then when you’re done talk about everything you’ve seen. When you get inside, draw a picture of your favorite species!

Times are tough, but being together is what is MOST important. No matter what you do, we urge you to stay home, stay safe, and have FUN with the people you are with!
