This Friday, June 18th is National Go Fishing Day!

Ramsey Outdoor has high expectations for this upcoming Fluke season. The New Jersey 2021 Recreational Summer Flounder (Fluke) Season runs from May 22, 2021, through September 19, 2021. The New Jersey regulation states a daily catch limit of three (3) on 18”+ Summer Flounder or Fluke.

Ramsey Outdoor wants you to get the most out of this season!

Make sure you have a NJ Saltwater Registration Number, use https://www.nj.gov/dep/saltwaterregistry/ it is completely free.

Need a NJ Fishing License? Complete it online or come into your local Ramsey Outdoor and get one from our fishing department.

Ramsey Outdoor’s experienced fishing staff will assist you in creating a custom set up or pick out your own typical outfit for fishing from a boat.

Our Staff Guidelines:

• Conventional reels with a Conventional rod about 6’.5”- to- 7-foot length, equipped with 20-30LB test braided line and a 20LB Flouro carbon leader.
• Spinning Outfits require rods in the 6-to-7-foot range, equipped with 20-30 LB test braided line with 20-30LB Flouro carbon leader.

The fishing staff has selected some choice jigs for fluke fishing. The top picks include:

• Spro Prime Bucktails
• Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail
• Nomad Design Streaker and Gypsy

Honorable mentions include the Tsunami Shad or Hogy Bunker tipped with a thin squid strip just might be the ticket for finicky Fluke.

With the past few seasons being up and down with the size and limit restrictions, it might be a good idea to have a few options to consider.

It may just be the difference between a fresh Fluke dinner or a Hot Dog!
