With #GivingTuesday in our wake, we sat down and thought about how we; as an outdoor store gives back in our day today. As ambassadors of the outdoors, we are constantly thinking about how we can give back to the environment that gives so much to us. At Ramsey Outdoor, we pride ourselves on offering products that are environmentally friendly. Many of the brands we sell focus on creating products that have a limited impact on the environment, if any impact at all. By selling these brands, we are doing what we can to give back to our planet every day.

Patagonia We sell a lot of Patagonia. Patagonia has put a huge focus on being an environmentally friendly company and that is one of the many reasons why we carry their products. They donate at least one percent of sales or ten percent of pre-tax profits (depending on which is more) to environmental groups. They also have a program called “Worn Wear.” Patagonia creates products that are high-quality so they do not need to be replaced often and can be easily repaired. They hope that this concept will help people cut down on throwing garments into the garbage.
Along with selling eco-friendly items in our store, we also participate in community awareness to keep mother-nature alive and well. We work closely with the New York New Jersey Trail Conference to maintain trails from waste and promote a carry-in / carry-out mentality. Also, to name a few of the non-profits that we support in their conservation efforts: Hackensack Riverkeeper, Trout Unlimited, Raritans Headwaters Association, Stripers Unlimited, NJ Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and Surfrider Foundation.
