Make an Impact This Earth Day

This Monday, April 22nd, is Earth Day – a day celebrated annually Worldwide to support environmental protection. The Earth is our home, and it’s important that we all do our part to make a positive impact not just on this day, but every day! As John Denver said, “Love the Earth as you would love yourself.” Below you’ll find a list of things you can do to help make an impact this Earth Day and details about our In-Store Earth Day Sale!
- Participate in a Beach Cleanup: On April 20th, celebrate our beautiful Earth by helping to keep Cape May clean from 8:30am - 12pm. Dress to work outdoors and pre-registration is required for this event.
- Plant a Tree or Three: Join the American Littoral Society on April 20th from 10am – 4pm and help build a living shoreline to help restore the Slade Dale Sanctuary by planting trees.
- Plant a Garden: Growing your own is a little harder than just planting a tree, but is also a lot more rewarding! There is nothing better than the taste of fruits and veggies that you’ve grown yourself, plus the time spent outdoors is a bonus and more plants are better for the environment!
- Gift Yourself a Reusable Water Bottle: We all know that plastic is extremely bad for the environment, and it takes 3 times the amount of water in a plastic water bottle to make it than it does to fill it. Seriously! Invest in a reusable water bottle, with all the stylish choices you’ll be sure to find one or three that you’ll love!
- Reuse Your Straw: Yes, you read that right! Reusable straws are another great way to reduce your carbon footprint. You can find them made from everything from stainless steel to bamboo!
