They are one of the only places in the area with equipment rentals on-site. Pack a snack and don’t forget the water for an amazing day.
4. Snowshoe in a Picturesque Spot: Do you and your better half like to snowshoe? Then pick a trail that is surrounded with stunning views, like one of the thirty-four at the Slide Mountain Wilderness in New Paltz, NY. Slide Mountain, the tallest peak in all the Catskills, inspired poet and naturalist John Burroughs to write; "Here the works of man dwindle, in the heart of the southern Catskills." A plaque commemorating both the man and the mountain graces the face of the summit rock.
