Birds chirping, flowers blooming, and warmer temperatures…Spring is in the air! After this past Winter, it could not get here soon enough. Below you’ll find our Bucket List to get outdoors and take full advantage of the season!
- Visit a Local Farmer’s Market: New Jersey isn’t called the Garden State for no reason and there’s no better way to sample the season’s best produce than at a local farmer’s market! With fresh fruits, fresh veggies, meats, cheeses, breads, and more this is a must do in the Spring and every season!
- Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival: Washington D.C. isn’t the only place to view these gorgeous blooms! The Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival opens with a Bike Race on Saturday, April 7th. Family Day is on Saturday, April 14th and Bloomfest is on Sunday, April 15th. Don’t miss this fun, family-friendly springtime tradition!
- Participate in a Fun Run: Summer’s right around the corner, so now is the time to get that beach body ready. Fun Run’s are a great way to get in shape and support your community…it’s a win-win for everyone!
- Explore and Eat Outdoors: Hikers can enjoy the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area all year, but only the Spring provides a weekly parade of wildflowers and flowering trees. Enjoy all the beauty this park has to offer by planning a hike and packing your lunch to enjoy a picnic with Mother Nature!
- Discover the Springtime Bird Migration: The weekend of Saturday, May 12th Cape May becomes a birders paradise and they migrate from all over the country for the World Series of Birding! The World Series of Birding is the country's largest and most prestigious birding competition and provides participants and sponsors with a fun and interactive way to raise money for critically needed conservation priorities.
