This late September, Ramsey Outdoor was stoked to welcome the KÜHL MULE Tour for two stops in New Jersey! This retro-fitted overlanding military truck brought live music, giveaways, and immaculate vibes to our Ramsey and Succasunna stores.
The KÜHL MULE visited both our Ramsey and Succasunna stores, bringing live music, giveaways, refreshments, and plenty of energy to each location. Lindsay Jordan performed in Ramsey, while Declan O'Hara took the stage in Succasunna. Declan is also part of our Ramsey Outdoor team, working in the camping department and serving as a store manager. An up-and-coming musician, he plays a mix of crowd-favorite covers along with his own original music. Customers at both stores also had the chance to meet the KÜHL team, check out the MULE, and enjoy a fun community event.
The MULE
The centerpiece of the tour was hard to miss. The KÜHL MULE began life as a 1996 Stewart & Stevenson M1078 military cargo truck. KÜHL transformed it into a mobile event space and concert stage, complete with a battery and solar-powered electrical system. The truck can unfold into a stage large enough to accommodate a full band. Since debuting in 2023, the MULE has traveled thousands of miles and visited dozens of independent outdoor retailers around the country. This fall's Northeast Tour traveled through Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, with Ramsey Outdoor selected for two of the New Jersey stops. KÜHL has long supported independent outdoor retailers, making the MULE Tour a natural fit for stores like Ramsey Outdoor. The tour is designed not just to showcase the brand, but to celebrate the independent shops and outdoor communities that have helped KÜHL grow.
Thanks to the KÜHL brand, our staff, musicians, and everyone who came out to make both stops a success. We’re looking forward to bringing more events like this to Ramsey Outdoor.
